They say if you can paint in watercolors you can paint in any medium. Oils are obedient as dogs, you can make them do whatever you want. Manage the light and shadows as you please, blend on your surface, correct anything at any time, but watercolors are like cats. They have their own mind, will move around, leave traces between washes, run all over the paper and white! oh the struggle to work with it. But, as cats, it’s magical. You have no choice but to love them and hate them at the same time. Don’t give up though. Practice, finish what you start even if it’s not perfect, and some day you ‘ll start to understand. I am halfway there. They make more sense to me than when I first started to use them and I know someday, not far from today, I ll be happy I chose to paint with them.
